Last-minute entry for ~Mochizuki's Create-a-Mate contest.
On the left, her XingXing (a character I've drawn before), and on the right is Reila. I wanted her outfit to be more detailed, but I wasn't sure where I was going with it. But in my head she wears awesome clothes.
Anyways. Info on Reila:
Full Name: Reila Able
Nicknames: Reila, Rei
(Current) Age: 20
Sexual Orientation: Bi
Gender: Female
Likes: Music, goth/EGL fashion, manga, pasta, fancy sandwiches, music TV, dolls, Macs
Dislikes: France-haters, Tex-Mex food, German music, liars, bigots, politicians, global warming
Fears: Global-warming related apocalypse, food-borne pathogens, elevators
Fav. Color: Pink
Fav. Food: Pesto pasta and panini bread
Future plans: Become a pit-orchestra musician on Broadway
Family/Siblings: Mother & father (divorced), step-father, and little brother
Past: Reila grew up pretty normally. She attended private Catholic schooling until she reached high school, when she began attending a public school. Her parents divorced when she was 13, and her father moved back to France. Her mother remarried shortly.
Throughout her life, Reila has had an interest in music. She played harp throughout middle and high school in the school orchestra and symphony, and has begun expanding her musical knowledge since (she currently plays several instruments, though harp is her forte). After graduation, she recieved a full-ride to NYU for her harp playing, where she is currently studying.
Personality: Reila is outgoing, outspoken, and highly opinionated. She often acts as though she doesn't care what people think about her, but in reality she is very self-concious. Despite her upfront and confrontational nature, she has a tendency to feel inconfident. She often downplays her own mistakes and shortcomings by making a joke out of it.
Though witty and semi-sarcastic, Reila is still an optimist and a romantic at heart. She tries to see the best in people whenever possible. She is not that quick to trust as it has gotten her hurt in the past, but she isn't an ice queen either. She's usually pretty friendly with new people, though she has the tendancy to be kind of awkward.
How they met: OFL concert. Reila likes OFL.
Unique Traits:
- Is a non-denominational Christian
- Her favorite book is Blue Like Jazz
- Her second favorite instrument to play is cello
- She's bilingual. Her parents taught her French when she was little.
- Likes ice hockey, plays tennis occasionally
- Does not like to eat lamb much
- Finds gum-chewing very annoying
- Likes German cars a lot

My webcomic is bad and I feel bad, so no need to bother pointing that out.
I agree the thought of a global warming apocolypse scares me too; along with elevators. (I espically hate it when you're on one and someone else on it starts bouncing. Ah! It freaks me out.)
I love her personality and the fact that she plays a HARP. You know how cool that is? xD I wish that I could play one. I also love the fact that they meet at an OFL concert. LOVE~!

The harp thing actually came from a joke in my family xD My dad has a friend whose daughter got a full-ride to Rice on harp playing. My sister wants to be a musician, so we're always talking about how she ought to play harp. It's a pretty killer instrument, too.
