So! After a number of setbacks (including having a very adorable boyfriend, college apps, etc) I have finally completed this, my part in *Skwinky's Secret Santa '07.
This year I am the secret santa of my dear comrade ~RyokoNoKalo. The theme she gave that I chose to go with was Blue October's "Into the Ocean", and while it would've made sense to draw a mermaid with an ocean theme, I opted to take another route; taking into consideration that the song itself is pretty depressing, I picked a character (her desert dragon, Fali) who might be kind of sad to be washed out at sea.
I tried something new with the composition and well... didn't do as great as I had wanted to. But! It was an interesting experiment and I like her face. so.
I actually really like this. It's relaxing (although I must agree that the song is depressing) and I really love how you did the pose. It looks really natural and not stiff at all ;D You pulled it off perfectly!
OMG!! I freakin' LUFF YOUUU!!! ^_^
She would indeed be very depressed if she was washed out to sea. She would miss her desert very muchly. I just LOVE your coloring! you really captured the song very well in the muted tones. Also, everything about her in expression and the wonderful pose just holds so much emotion! I love how you made her eyes especially.
OMG OMG OMG! (forgive my infernal chatspeak >.<
yay! thank you so much!! :3
